INSPIRING CREATIVITY FOR OVER 100 YEARS.
For more than a century Caldicot Musical Theatre Society has been bringing people together through a shared love of performing arts. The group was originally formed as 1925 when it was called Rogiet and District Operatic Society. Since then we've entertained generations of audiences, nurtured local talent and created lasting friendships through musical theatre.
Today we're best known for producing musicals and musical theatre concerts and revues, showcasing everything from much loved classics through to modern favourites. We also enjoy the occasional pantomime and play, giving our members the opportunity to explore a wide range of theatrical experiences.
In 2018, CMTS became a registered charity, reinforcing our commitment to promoting, maintaining and advancing education and appreciation of the arts throughout Caldicot and the surrounding communities. We continue to build on our proud heritage by creating opportunities for people of mixed ages to learn, perform and develop new skills, while producing memorable entertainment for our
audiences.
We believe everyone should have the opportunity to get involved regardless of background or experience. Our friendly and inclusive society provides a welcoming environment where members can build confidence, discover new talents and share a passion for theatre through rehearsals, workshops, productions and community events.
Whether you're stepping onto the stage for the first time, volunteering behind the scenes or supporting us from the audience, you'll be helping to continue a legacy that has enriching the life of Caldicot for over 100 years.

Our Shows.
Join us...
We typically stage at least 3 performances per year, including a major musical. As well as our shows and concerts you'll often find us out in the community, supporting local charity fundraisers, fetes, fayres, Christmas celebrations, care homes and other community events.
Our members range in age from 11 upwards and there's no upper age limit! Whether you're an experienced performer trying musical theatre for the first time or looking to get involved behind the scenes there's a place for you at CMTS.
Producing a show takes much more than the cast on stage. We're always looking for volunteers to help with stage management, lighting and sound, set building and painting, costumes, props, front of house, marketing, fundraising, chaperoning, administation and even making the tea! Whatever your skills or experience, we'd love to welome you to our friendly society.
